How to use the Doctor is IN

This new feature of TheFilipinoDoctor.com displays a switch panel on your log in page.
On the center of the switch panel, you will find the switches for IN and OUT.

To set your availability for the day, click or tap on either the IN or OUT panel on the switch that you find on your log in page.  This will automatically set all the switches corresponding to every schedule you have for the day.  To avoid misinformation, these settings are good only for the day.

To set your availability for week, click or tap on the link under the panel that reads Set your availability for the week.  This will open your clinics and schedules on the lower part of the current page.  You can now individually set to IN or OUT each of your schedules for the entire week.  To avoid misinformation, these settings are good only for the current week.

All settings for both day and week will reset to “blank” after the day or week is over.

Thank you!

Sore throat is a painful, dry, or scratchy feeling in the throat. Pain in the throat is one of the most common symptoms for this condition. It accounts for more than 13 million visits to doctor's offices each year. Most sore throats are caused by infections, or by environmental factors such as dry air. Although sore throat can be uncomfortable, it would subside eventually. Among the risk factors that lead to this condition include smoking, exposure to cigarette smoke (secondhand smoke), toxic fumes, industrial smoke, dry air, and other air pollutants. Aside from these, there are other common factors that cause sore throat such as shouting, too much talking, hay fever and other allergies.

Sore throats are usually named based on the part affected:

  • Pharyngitis is pain and inflammation of the pharynx.
  • Tonsillitis typically involves inflammation of the tonsils.
  • Laryngitis is pain and inflammation of the larynx. It is often associated with a hoarse voice.
  • Croup is a form of laryngitis in children. It tends to be associated with a seal barking-like cough and difficulty in inhaling air.
  • Epiglottitis is a rare type of sore throat inflammation. The inflamed or swollen epiglottis can obstruct or close off the windpipe. It can lead to medical emergency, which may be fatal unless promptly treated.
